“70 to 80 percent of immunity throughout the body is formed in the digestive tract (gut). Microbiota modulates (changes or influences) the immune system, so that it is able to fight or kill any pathogens, including viruses,” continued the Alumni of the Ubaya Surabaya Faculty of Pharmacy.

“Microbiota are all the microbes and their genetic material in the body that play a role in promoting health. Now, because diet and lifestyle that are exposed to various pollutants and pressure loads (stress) can damage the microbiota in the digestive tract, recovery (immunity) efforts are needed again,” he said.
