The gut-brain axis, an area of cutting-edge research, denotes the bidirectional connection between the GI tract and the nervous system. Specific strains, like Chr. Hansen’s L. acidophilus DDS-1, are capable of producing essential neurotransmitters such as GABA, serotonin, and dopamine.

- Alleviates perceived stress while also improving abdominal pain in adolescents and adults with irritable bowel syndrome.
- Normalizes stool consistency for adolescents and adults dealing with irritable bowel syndrome.
